Equestrian Camping

Cypress Hills Park:  West Block

Facility has approximately 10 pens and 30 tie stalls as well as large paddock where electric fences are permitted within fence.

 Non-serviced camping sites available with picnic table, fire pits, washroom.

Water available

Please note:  Hay is not allowed in park.  Riders must bring cubes or pellets.  (Can be purchased at Ranger Station, close to camp site)

Studs are not allowed on site

Grasslands National Park : East of Rock Creek Campground and South of Belza (Day use only)

East of Rock Creek

Facilities has horse pens, round pen, water tank, and manure receptacle.

Close to vault toilet and summer kitchen

Water tank and troughs at the equestrian camping areas are available May 19 to September 4, 2023.

 

South of the Belza (day use area)

Facility has horse pens, vault toilet, water tank, manure receptacle.

Close proximity to drinking water and Coulee Centre at the Frenchman Valley Campground (500 meter walk)

This area is not enclosed in bison proof fencing.

Please note: Riders must bring cubes, pellets or steamed oats. Respect private landowners around the park. Ride with caution sparks can result from horses clipping shoes. 

 

Neudorf Trails 

The village of Neudorf boasts 15 km of multi-purpose nature trails that are suitable for horseback riding.

Prince Albert National Park 

Choose from one of the following horse-friendly trails throughout the park:

Elk Trail – 13 to 15 km one way
Hunters Lake Trail – 7.3 km loop
Valley View Trail Network – 28.7 km network

Elk Trail and portions of the Valley View Trail network are suitable for wagon use.
