The 2017 Canadian National Arabian and Half Arabian Championship Horse Show was held August 13-19 in Brandon, Manitoba.  This year marks the 60th anniversary of the show, and Arabian horse enthusiasts and their horses travelled from all over Canada and the United States to participate in this event.  Saskatchewan was well represented this year with both amateur and professional exhibitors in a wide variety of classes, from In-Hand to Ranch Riding to Dressage.  Thank you and congratulations to our members that shared their successes with us!

Natasha Quigley from Gravelbourg, SK received top ten results in Reining, Ranch Riding and Sport Horse in hand with her half-arabian mare, LE Zmart N Peppy.

Marvelle Machniak showed her 5 year old Arabian Mare WV Gabrianna to a Championship in Arabian Sport Horse Mares In-Hand Dressage Type ATH.  WV Gabrianna is out of Bey Ambition (Rae Dawn Arabians Saskatoon) X WV Lexus, bred by Cathy and Bob Wasylyk of Porcupine Plain, SK.  She also received a Championship in Arabian Sport Horse Mares In-Hand Dressage Type, and a Reserve Championship in Arabian Sport Horse Mares In-Hand Hunter Type, shown by Erica Milligan. 

MF Own the Night (Say Hey Kid+++/ x WE Allada Joy by Allionce+/) was Champion Sport Horse in Hand Stallion Dressage type and Hunter Type ATH, Reserve Champion Sport horse in Hand Dressage Type and Hunter Type Open, as well as top ten purebred Futurity colts.  He was shown by his proud owner, Brianne Focht of Unity, SK.

Aimbri Fawzia (Moon Sheine x Tammens Nadira) was bred, raised, trained, owned and shown by her extremely proud amateur owner, Jeannette Jardine of Aimbri Arabians of White City, SK.  She received Top Ten results in a number of in-hand classes but her best placings were in Sport Horse in Hand Dressage Type, both Open and ATH, where she was in the Top 50% of the class.  She now has a total of 10 Canadian National Top Ten results.

HS Kolors Khemorada ++, a 12 year old arabian stallion owned by Tammy Hayward and Danny Rittaler of Lasting Legacy Equine of Kendal, SK, was trained and shown by D.J. Cairns of Grayson, SK.  They received Champion results in Sport Horse In Hand Stallion Open, both Dressage and Hunter Type.  They also received excellent results in Dressage, with a 6th in Training Level and a 3rd in First Level.
