HERITAGE CIRCUIT - SHOW INFORMATION
http://www.sasksport.sk.ca/zones.html

GUIDELINES FOR SHOW COMMITTEES
The S.H.F. Heritage Show Circuit is a provincial circuit. Each circuit show is a member of one of the eight Saskatchewan Sport Zones and a complete set of awards is presented annually in each of the eight sport zones.
- The prize list of all shows participating in the S.H.F. Heritage Circuit must clearly state that the show is a
"S.H.F. HERITAGE CIRCUIT SHOW “

  1. One member of the show committee MUST be a current S.H.F individual member for liability insurance reasons.
    - Each show will receive a Heritage First place ribbon for each Heritage Class held at their show.
    - Shows failing to comply with the above will NOT receive any first-place ribbons, and will not be recognized as a Heritage Circuit Show.
    - Each show will receive a Permit Show Certificate that should be displayed at the horse show office.
    - Result Forms: These are supplied to the Show Committee Secretary along with the Heritage Ribbons, and are to be completed for each Heritage class, listing the placings of all horses from first through sixth place, whether a Heritage Nominated horse or not. Accuracy in reporting results ensures Provincial Championships are calculated correctly.
    - The Judge must be an Individual Member of the S.H.F. and must be approved.

ADMINISTRATIVE RULES

Procedures:

1) The show secretary will obtain the "Show Package 1" application forms from the SHF office to have their show registered as a Heritage show. From the list of eligible Heritage classes the show will select those classes it wishes to hold. The Show may offer local, non-Heritage classes if it wishes, but such will not be eligible for Heritage / Provincial awards.

2) All shows must be members of the Saskatchewan Horse Federation. All shows must have their event sanctioned for liability insurance coverage of $5 million including participants and spectators liability coverage.

3) Show Date Request Form: This will be sent to all participating shows in the autumn prior to the coming competition year. Forms should be returned by the end of November to allow publication of Heritage Show dates in Show Trail magazine and on the web site from January onwards.

4) The SHF will supply a first-place Heritage ribbon for every Heritage class for all shows participating in the SHF Heritage Circuit. Ribbons will be only for SHF Heritage Circuit Classes on the approved class list of the current year.

5) Heritage Participants: Only those competitors entered who are Individual Members of the Saskatchewan Horse Federation and who have nominated their horse are eligible for provincial awards. Shows may accept memberships and nominations (on the forms supplied) at the show and forward them on to the SHF with the results following the show. Members may nominate more than one horse, but the $15 fee applies to each horse nominated. A horse may be ridden by more than one person, but each person must nominate that horse. Awards are based on a rider/horse combination for the Heritage Circuit.

6) Membership: Individual SHF membership is not mandatory for competitors. However, the Individual SHF membership carries a $5 million liability insurance coverage for the Individual for all his/her horse-related activities. In the interests of good risk management, it is advisable that shows request an Individual SHF membership to ensure their competitors are properly insured. It may become a requirement of the insurance companies in the future that all persons competing in a sanctioned horse show are members of their provincial federation. All Individual Members are annually issued a membership card with a membership number. It is also prudent for each member of the show committee to obtain their own personal SHF Individual membership to extend the protection offered by complete liability insurance coverage, especially if they have other horse-related activities in the course of the year.

7) Show Committees must submit applications and a prize list for approval at least four weeks prior to the show date or a $25.00 penalty fee will be assessed to the show.

8) Forms for the show including the class results and the ribbons will be sent to each show as the SHF office receives and approves their Permit, Sanction and Class applications and prize list.

9) The Show Secretary must submit the results of each SHF Heritage Circuit class along with any nominations or membership applications received at the show. These MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN TEN DAYS AFTER THE SHOW.

10) Horses Nominated for the Heritage Circuit will begin point accumulation only AFTER the horse/rider combination is nominated. Shows participated in by a competitor prior to nomination of horse/rider WILL NOT be considered.

11) Persons may nominate their horse(s) at a Show on the form provided. To be eligible for awards, a person must be a current Individual Member of the SHF and Nominate the horse on which s/he wishes to accumulate points.

12) The Show must forward all the memberships and nominations with the fees that it receives to the SHF promptly, to ensure they receive their proper points.
